Job Summary
NASUAK Garments Ltd is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Tailoring Expert to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, cutting, sewing, and finishing a variety of garments, including uniforms, suits, African wear, corporate attire, casual wear, and protective wear. The role also involves training and supervising junior tailors, ensuring high-quality production standards, and contributing to the overall growth of the tailoring department.




Key Responsibilities
- Garment Production & Tailoring
- Interpret and follow garment designs, patterns, and specifications to create high-quality garments.
- Measure, cut, and sew fabrics accurately to ensure a perfect fit and finish.
- Stitch, alter, and repair garments based on customer requests.
- Ensure proper use and maintenance of sewing machines and other tailoring tools.
- Conduct quality checks on finished garments to ensure precision and durability.
- Training & Supervision
- Train and mentor junior tailors and apprentices to improve their tailoring skills.
- Conduct practical tailoring sessions for trainees in NASUAK’s skilling programs.
- Guide workers in using various sewing machines, embroidery machines, and garment-making techniques.
- Design & Customization
- Work closely with clients to understand their garment needs and preferences.
- Provide design recommendations and fabric selection guidance based on industry trends.
- Modify and customize garments for special orders, ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Quality Control & Standards Compliance
- Ensure that all garments meet the company’s quality standards before delivery to clients.
- Maintain consistency in measurements, stitching, and finishing.
- Identify and correct any defects in fabric, stitching, or final garments.
- Machine Operation & Maintenance
- Operate various tailoring equipment, including industrial sewing machines, embroidery machines, and cutting tools.
- Perform regular machine maintenance and troubleshoot minor technical issues.
- Ensure a safe and clean working environment in the tailoring department.




- Order Management & Efficiency
- Work within set production timelines to meet customer deadlines.
- Organize workflow to maximize efficiency in garment production.
- Keep records of orders, customer preferences, and inventory of tailoring supplies.
- Customer Service & Team Collaboration
- Engage with customers to understand their needs and provide tailoring solutions.
- Work collaboratively with designers, embroidery experts, and the production team.
- Provide after-sales services such as garment alterations and adjustments.
Qualifications & Experience
- Education: Experience in Fashion & Design, Tailoring, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years in tailoring, garment making, or fashion design.
- Skills:
- Proficiency in operating sewing and embroidery machines.
- Strong knowledge of fabric types, stitching techniques, and garment construction.
- Ability to cut, sew, and finish garments with precision.
- Creativity and a keen eye for detail.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
