Introduction
NASUAK Garments Ltd is a leading garment making company based in Uganda, that produces high quality uniforms, corporate wear, Suits, African wear, casual wear, protective wear, visibility wear, party wear, and bags. We are also engaged in a wide range of services, including tailoring, embroidery, T-shirt printing, graphic design, and skilling courses for various specialized skills.
We are seeking a Embroidery Expert to join our talented team and contribute to the production of high-quality embroidered designs across our product ranges. This position requires an expert with a deep understanding of embroidery techniques, equipment, and design principles to ensure precision, creativity, and innovation in the embroidery work we deliver.
Key Responsibilities
- Embroidery Design & Production:
- Lead the embroidery process from start to finish, ensuring the production of high-quality embroidered items (uniforms, suits, corporate wear, casual wear, protective wear, etc.).
- Collaborate with the design team to translate artwork or customer specifications into embroidery files.
- Ensure accurate color matching, stitch density, and alignment for all embroidered designs.
- Operate and maintain embroidery machines, ensuring optimal functionality and minimal downtime.
- Embroidery Digitizing:
- Use specialized embroidery digitizing software (e.g., Wilcom, Hatch, or similar) to convert designs into machine-readable formats (DST, PES, JEF, etc.).
- Develop and modify embroidery files for various garment types, ensuring high-quality stitching results.
- Work closely with designers and clients to ensure the designs meet technical and aesthetic requirements.
- Quality Control:
- Conduct thorough inspections of all embroidery work to ensure consistency and accuracy across all designs.
- Address and resolve any quality issues related to stitching, thread tension, design distortion, or fabric compatibility.
- Ensure all embroidery operations are performed in line with NASUAK Garments’ quality standards and customer requirements.

- Training & Development:
- Provide training and mentorship to junior embroidery staff or trainees on the use of embroidery machines, techniques, and software.
- Lead or assist in conducting embroidery training courses for our skilling programs, such as training in embroidery machine operation, digitizing, and design creation.
- Technical Support & Troubleshooting:
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of embroidery machines, ensuring minimal disruptions to production.
- Troubleshoot design issues, machine errors, or fabric challenges during embroidery, taking corrective actions promptly.
- Innovation & Process Improvement:
- Continuously explore new embroidery techniques, materials, and tools to enhance the quality and efficiency of the embroidery production process.
- Suggest and implement process improvements to optimize workflow and reduce production time.
Key Skills & Qualifications
Technical Skills:
- Embroidery Machine Operation: Expertise in operating multi-needle embroidery machines (e.g., Brother, Bernina, or similar), including setting up, programming, and troubleshooting.
- Digitizing Software Proficiency: Proficiency in leading embroidery digitizing software (Wilcom, Hatch, CorelDRAW, Adobe Illustrator, etc.).
- Design Creation: Ability to create and edit designs using graphic design software, ensuring designs are suitable for embroidery.
- Fabric & Thread Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of different fabric types, threads, and their compatibility with various embroidery techniques.
- Production Knowledge: Familiarity with batch production processes, including handling orders of varying sizes and complexities.
Experience:
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience in embroidery design and production, preferably in the garment manufacturing or textile industry.
- Proven track record of successfully managing embroidery projects from concept to completion, ensuring high-quality standards.

- Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail, ensuring flawless embroidery in every piece produced.
- Creative Problem Solving: Ability to creatively solve design and technical problems as they arise during production.
- Time Management: Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced production environment.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with team members, clients, and trainees.
- Leadership & Training: Ability to lead, mentor, and inspire junior staff or trainees in developing their embroidery skills.
Educational Qualifications:
- Minimum of a Certificate in Textiles, Garments, Fashion Design, or a related field.
- Additional training or certification in embroidery techniques, machine operation, or design software is highly desirable.
- Participation in specialized embroidery or garment production workshops is a plus.
Working Environment:
- The Embroidery Expert will work in a dynamic and collaborative environment at NASUAK Garments Ltd’s production facility.
- Regular shifts may be required during peak production times.
