Overview of NASUAK Garments Ltd CSR Commitment

At NASUAK Garments Ltd, we recognize our responsibility towards not just the commercial interests of our business but also the wider community and environment where we operate. As a fast growing Ugandan company with a diverse portfolio in garment making, related services, and skill development, our commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) reflects our belief in positive societal impact and sustainable business practices in communities where we operate.

Our CSR initiatives are and will always be designed and aimed at promoting social, economic, and environmental welfare while ensuring we contribute to the development of the communities in which we operate. We actively seek to integrate ethical practices into our business operations and ensure that our efforts align with national and global sustainability goals.

KEY AREAS OF NASUAK GARMENTS CSR

1: Youth Development Initiatives and Social Impact

Education of at least 13,500 students from unprivileged families across Uganda. NASUAK Garments Ltd in collaboration with NASUAK Group will contribute to the education of 13,500 kids/youth (7500 students from primary & 7500 students from secondary) from 135 districts in Uganda (100 per district) up to graduation from best Universities in Uganda. In NASUAK Group, we believe we exist to make this a realty at all cost. Our energy is focus at growing business to support this noble initiative. We call upon clients and everybody to buy our products, use our services and our skilling courses to support our business to achieve this noble cause.

Youth Empowerment and Education: We offer skill development programs, including courses on tailoring, embroidery, knitting, bag making, graphic design, and T-shirt printing. These programs empower individuals, especially youth, to acquire valuable skills that enhance their employability and foster entrepreneurship.

Skills Development, job creation for Income Generation: In addition to offering training in garment-related fields, NASUAK Garments Ltd will also provide vocational skilling courses in skills such in information technology etc. These skills will enable individuals to generate income in a variety of ways, ensuring that they have the tools to create sustainable livelihoods.

Youth Talent Development: NASUAK Garments Ltd organizes workshops and training sessions focused on identifying and nurturing young talent in the fields of garment making, Information technology and Engineering Games and sports, Music dance and drama, medical and education sector. Through partnership with NASUAK Group, we will partner with key stakeholders and professionals to identify raw talent across a wide range of fields to provide mentorship and hands-on training for youth interested in pursuing careers in those fields to the level where they can enjoy the benefits of their hard work and contribute to betterment of families, communities  and country where they come from.

2: Community Development and Social Impact

At NASUAK Garments Ltd, we believe that businesses should serve as agents of social change. We aim to create lasting social value through our involvement in local communities, including youth empowerment, education, and job creation.

Agricultural Development Programs: Recognizing that many poor communities depend on subsistence farming, NASUAK Garments Ltd and collaboration with NASUAK Group will support agricultural development interventions that support sustainable farming practices for improve income and livelihoods. We support provision and access to agricultural tools, seeds, and farming techniques that improve crop yields and enhance food security for families in rural areas.

Corporate Giving and Charitable Initiatives

NASUAK Garments Ltd is committed to giving back to the community and supporting various charitable causes, particularly in the fields of education, health, and poverty alleviation.

Donations to Local Schools and Hospitals: We will regularly donate uniforms, protective and visibility wear, and other essential supplies to schools and hospitals within the communities we serve. This will help to ensure that underprivileged children and families have access to basic necessities.

Support for Vulnerable Groups: NASUAK Garments Ltd will actively be involved in providing support to vulnerable groups in Uganda, including orphans, refugees, single mother, elderly, the sick and people with disabilities. We will provide clothing and financial support and business support to boost livelihoods, support organizations that focus on improving the lives of these groups.

Supporting Small-scale Entrepreneurs

Microfinance and Grants: NASUAK Garments Ltd Collaboration with NASUAK Groups will partner with financial institutions and NGOs to provide microloans and grants to small-scale entrepreneurs, particularly those in rural and marginalized communities. These funds help entrepreneurs start or expand small businesses, which create local jobs and generate income within the community.

Disaster Relief and Crisis Support

During national or community crises, NASUAK Garments Ltd in collaboration with NASUAK Group will support initiatives to address the impacts of the different crises. We shall be involved in supporting those affected and in need of help. This will involve in the provision of products/items, goods, services that will minimize the impacts of the crises to the people affected by the occurrence of those crises.

 

 

3: Slum Projects

Water and Sanitation Projects: Many slum communities face challenges with access to clean water and proper sanitation. NASUAK Garments Ltd in partnership with NASUAK Group will invest in the development of clean water wells and sanitation facilities in these communities where we operate. By providing access to safe drinking water and improving sanitation, we aim to reduce health risks associated with poor hygiene and waterborne diseases.

Affordable Housing and Shelter Initiatives: NASUAK Garments Ltd in collaboration with NASUAK Group will actively supporting affordable housing projects that focus on improving living conditions in slums. We will massively contribute to construction efforts by providing building materials, funding, and skilled labor for the development of low-cost housing that meets basic safety and hygiene standards.

Health and Medical Support in Slum Areas

Mobile Health Clinics: To address healthcare access issues, NASUAK Garments Ltd in collaboration with NASUAK Group will partner with local health organizations to fund and support mobile health clinics that provide essential medical services such as vaccinations, maternal care, and disease prevention in slum areas.

Medical Supply Donations: We will regularly donate medical supplies such as first aid kits, medicines, and hygiene products to health centers and clinics that serve residents in impoverished communities especially slum areas.

4: Promoting Gender Equality and Inclusion
